Gentsch & Associates, LLC – Our History

In 1963 Fred H. Gentsch moved to Akron, Ohio with his family to purchase a small Manufacturers' Representative Agency by the name of Sullivan Sales & Service. Mr. Sullivan, or "Sully" as he was known, sold Wayne Air Compressors and Lifts, among other products, to the four rubber companies in Akron, OH. He was looking to retire and Fred, who was the Regional Manager for Wayne, was looking for a territory smaller than half the United States. Upon purchasing the agency Fred renamed it Fred H. Gentsch & Associates and later incorporated as Fred H. Gentsch & Associates, Inc.

In 1985 Geoff Gentsch, fresh out of college, joined the agency and under Fred's tutelage helped to build the business over the next 20+ years. In 2009, after Fred's passing, the agency became Gentsch & Associates, LLC.
